A.the field is stronger at the point A since both the fields from Plate and the point charge are in the same directions and add up , than at the point b which is a little farther. the field lines always are emitted perrpendicular to the ssurfac eof the charged surface or the charge itself. they may have different paths but ultimately, they should end up perpenicularly on the surface. B.the equipotential surfaces must be perpendicular to the field lines. as the work done by moving a charge on a equipotential surface is zero. and it contradicts the statement if field lines are not perpendicular.
