Need help with the red starred sections. Please explain how you got your answer! 5. Hexaaquacobalt(II) Complex Ion Equilibrium Write the equilibrium equation for hexaaquacobalt(I) complex ions with tetrachlorocobalt(II) complex ions. (Write the color under each ion.) a. ank lolue b. Observation when the test tube was heated. c. In which direction does heat shift the equilibrium?fobord How do you know? d. Observation when the test tube was place in ice water. changed book to pak In which direction does removing heat shift the equilibrium? How do you know? e. 20-11Explanation / Answer
5f) Your answer to (f) is wrong, it should be endothermic as heat is required for the reaction and not liberated.
5h) According to Le Chateliers principle, for an endothermic reaction, adding heat to the system shifts the reaction towards the product and hence blue CoCl42- is observed.
Similarly, for an endothermic reaction removing heating from the system shifts the reaction towards the reactant and hence pink hexa-aqua complex is formed.
