Explanation / Answer
1. The southern colonies focused mostly on agricultural activities and also developed plantations for the export of crops like tobacco, indigo, corns, cotton, grains, fruit, vegetables, livestock etc. For that the southern colonies have the largest population of slaves mostly brought from Africa who worked on these plantations. Some of these plantations had slave quarter, laundry, blacksmith's shop, main house, barns etc. These slave population were the backbone of the economy of the southern colonies. Therefore slavery distinguish them economically from other colonies.
3. The series of colonial crises like destruction of Boston harbor in 1773 , parliaments reaction of coercive acts of 1774 increased the colonial crisis. It changed the government of the Massachusettes and most importantly closed the Boston port until the town should repay the owner of the tea destroyed. Many colonist sympathize with the Boston and regarded this as objectionable to suffer all the people for the action of the single mob. After this out of the 13, 12 colonies sent their delegates to the first continental congress in Philadelphia and asked the British King to revoke the act.
4.Revolutionary government is that government formed that overthrows the existing government by force. This was guided by declaration of independence. According to the declaration of the independence which was adopted during the second continental congress on july 4,1776 in Philadelphia. According to this, 13 colonies which are at war with the Kingdom of Great Britain regarded themselves as 13 newly independent sovereign states and they are no longer British rule and become a newly state known as United States of America. This was a response to the American revolutionary war.
5. During 1750s and 1760s a slogan no taxation without representation was widespread in the thirteen American colonies. Since most of the colonies believed that they are not directly representing in the British Parliament and any laws passed like Sugar act, stamp act was illegal and denied their civic rights. This was one of the major causes of American revolution. So it was inconsistent with their republican principals of civic obligation.
7 .Liberal democracy is a form of government in which the elected representatives have decision making power and is limited to law and constitution. In this the government major focus is on protection of rights and freedoms of each individual.
