Assuming that the river is flowing north to south along the eastern side of the property, and the bedrock upland is the western half of the property. Where would you put your house? Where would you get your drinking water from and where would you withdraw it? Where would you dispose of your domestic sewage? Justify each answer if there is more than one answer explain the pros and cons of that location. Your answer must comply with the local laws to the best of your knowledge.

Explanation / Answer

The House must be constructed on the eatern most falnk of the Bed rock for safety and stability. These criteria for house construction are more essential than location of water source. since this is a dynamic water source. It is advisable to construct houses out side of the alluvial track of any river, for the river is expected to flood into this area occasionally also the are is not suitable for foundation. Also to reduce distance from the water source and since the primary purpose of the endeavour is to live in a river bank house, it should be placed on the eastern most area of the place. water source should be upstream the septic disposal. septic disposal pipepline should be kept far downstream to achieve a gradient of height for flow of waste in addition to being away from the water intake pipe. water intake shold also be kept a bit upstream, such that water may flow on its own without the use of pump.
