How It's Made is a documentary television program that is aired on the Discover/Science Channel weekly. This is a fascinating program explores the manufacturing process. Using the Internet, search to the television show How It's Made, select an episode that interests you. Watch the episode and discuss why you selected that product. Take notes while watching the episode and share in this discussion thread the 'process' by which the product selected is made. No detail is too small, describe the entire process from beginning to end and include what are considered direct materials, direct labor, and what was included as factory overhead (all indirect costs). Follow the minimum requirements for discussion board posts located in the general discussion area. Recall, those are the minimum requirements, more posts are always encouragedExplanation / Answer
The product which I selected is Bubblegum. Bubblegum is a completely different from all other products, children even now love to chew the bubble gum and try to blow baloons from that babulgum. But lot of them not know how it is made and what are the raw materials that are used to make bubblegum.
Bubblegum in previous days is made by gum base collected from tree resin. which is natural and nonhraming substance. But now a days synthetic and plastics are being used to make bubblegum.
Process of making bubblegum:-
Step 1:-The gum base is poured in to a mixture, a machine to mix all the materials. And next it will be mixed with the flavoured colour and process of mixing is started. during the mixing process a liquid sweetener, corn syrup is added to that mixture of gum base and flavoured colour. It also keeps the gum base mixture soft. and during the process a powedered sugar is also added. All this mixture is mixed in the machine for 20 minutes. It mixes all the materials together.
Step 2:- After the mixture is ready to spread down it is transferred to another machine through cargo. The machine squezes out ot the mixture from a narrow openings. This narrow stripes goes into another machine where the bubble gum stripes get its actual shape, sugar powder dust is used to easliy cut the bubblegum stripe in to small pieces
Step 3:-next it goes into the cooling chamber for 15 minutes. And next another machine cuts it into pices and covers a wraper to the bubblegum.
Step 4:-In the next stage a machine twists the bubblegum warper and sends it to other machine where some fixed weight of bubblegums are droped automatically into stickerred buckets.
Step 5:-And at last they were packed with a covering which keeps the bubblegums fresh. This is the process how a bubblebum is prepared with machinery.
This is the expalanation of process how a bubblegum is prepared.
Direct materials used in bubbelgum:- Gum base, liquid and powdered sweetener, covering and packing material, Buckets, cealing cover..etc...
( Indirect material used in bubblegum:- coloured flavour )
