The Physical activity is important for children's health and well-being. The schools should take a vital part in providing physical activity to the students. This provides a lot of benefit to the students and makes them active. The parents should involve and encourage the students for the physical activity.
Amount, Frequency, intensity of Middle school:
The students are encouraged to participate in physical activity for 60 minutes a day. This will be carried on all school days (almost 5 days in the week). This includes moderate to vigorous aerobic activity for 2 days of the week. Muscle strengthening activity for 2 days and bone strengthening activity for 2 days of the week.
Student Assessment:
Students are assessed by the licensed physical educators and the student's achievement are reported every 6 months. The students are also assessed using reliable tool and reports are sent to parents. Students are tracked towards the achievement goal.
Amount of Physical Activity:
The physical activity for outside of the classroom is 45 minutes and inside the classroom is 15 minutes which include ongoing physical education program.
Physical Activity Break:
School has provided one break daily based on the school policy.
Equipment:
The school has separate equipment for each class. the equipment is in good condition and adequate. The equipment is periodically checked and replaced if necessary. First aid kit is kept ready always. All safety measures are followed.
Extracurricular sports, clubs, and activity:
Physical activity clubs are available for high grades and it was guided by trained physical educators. On sports day, the competition was conducted and the students are rewarded to encourage them.
Access to School Grounds:
The local government and community agencies support the school physical activity. They provide the needed playground and other facilities needed for the student.
