Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterised by fear of gaining weight, food restrictiins and extreme desire to look thin.

Mononucleosis infection is caused by Epstein Barr virus. It is characterised by fever, soar throat, pharyngitis, fatigue. Large number of lymphocytes are produced to fight against infection leading to swollen spleen and liver. Liver produces large amount if bilirubin and may cause jaundice. EBV does not have any vaccination or treatment. Normally the infection subside in 1-2 weeks with symptomatic treatment and boosting the immunity. More emphasis is given on boosting the immunity through eating healthy fruits and vegetables. Tge disease is self limiting in immunocompetent patients.

In anorexia nervosa patient, the disease may take a severe course and prolonged active phase. This mainly occurs due to immunocompromised state of patient.
