Explanation / Answer

Notes:

Capital as on March 4 = $20000 - drawings = $20000 - $200 = $19800

Capital as on March 5 = $19800 - Loss on exchange of car = $19800 - (7000 - 6500) = $19300

Capital as on March 6 = $19300 + $2000 = $21300

Loan as on Mar 6 = $5000 - $1000 (repayment) = $4000

Cash on Mar 2 = $20000 - $6000 (furniture fittings) = $14000

Cash on Mar 3 = $14000 + $5000 (loan) = $19000

Cash on Mar 4 = $19000 - $7000 (car) - $200 (drawings) = $11800

Cash on Mar 5 = $11800 - $2500 (payment for new car) = $ 9300

Cash on Mar 6 = $9300 + $2000 (new capital) - $1000 (loan repayment) = $10300

Loss on sale of car = $7500 - $6500 = $500

Cash paid for the new car = $ 9000 - $6500 (excehnge value) = $2500
