What motivational techniques did your favorite supervisor (or teacher) use? What motivational techniques did your least favorite supervisor use? 3. How did the supervisor's approach to motivation affect your performance? 4. Using the motivational techniques discussed in Lesson 10, design a motivational plan that could be used to motivate employees at your current or former workplace. If you have never worked before, design a motivational plan that could be used to motivate students in this or any other class.Explanation / Answer
Ans.
1) Using a teacher / professor in this activity.
2) Favourite teacher / professor kept students active and engaged through class discussions .She used to randomly ask questions which encouraged students to participate actively in class discussions. She created a democratic classroom to enhance our ideas.Other than this rather than conducting tests , presentations were held related to current economic environment. Also encouraged for pair wise working in completing the assignments. Least favourite teacher / professor used to give lectures with less use of examples and gave alot of homework.Which made lecture boring and not able to understand the topics taught. Moreover she did not motivate much to enhance learning among students and took alot of individual tests, which were burdensome.
3) The technique followed by most favourite teacher increased performance in her subject. As many students learned many things and came out of new ideas. This helped in getting more grades in final exams .Whereas least favourite teacher's subject showed bad performance in final results as well as in individual progress tests. Which made many students to have retest.
4) In a classroom different motivational techniques must be used to enhance learning in students with more broad ideas. So first there is need to have control on class so that they take keen interest in what is being taught. It can be started by having classroom discussions on topic to be taught.Such as by asking questions. And for ideas given by them students must be appreciaed. Create a competition in class by having quiz and apprecate the winner by rewarding extra points in progress test. Before lecture is finished recaptulate the topic of what had been taught .Give stuents less homewrok and only twice in a week so that they don't feel burdensome.Once in a month group discussions must be held.Ask students to make presentations in group on topic related to there subject .Keep one lecture in a week as doubt session.Make a performance chart for every student by giving points in terms of progress made by them after every three months. And at last conduct test before final exams so they can go thorugh types of questions that might be asked.
