He recently moved to the US to live with his adult daughter and her family in Connecticut after his wifc of 40 years died of cancer last year. He was admitted to the hospital 3 days ago after suffering third degree burns of his left hand and forearm. lle received this after attempting to light a gas stove burner. A careful history taken by an ER nune revealed that the patient had not smelled any gas fumes and had assumed uhe buner was off; when he lit the burner the gas exploded and his left arm caught on ire. His daughter stated that she was upstairs at the time and had smelled the gas fumes about 40 seconds before she heard the loud explosion and her father's cry for help. A neurological work up of the patient was done after he was admited, a slight resting tremor was was noted. The daughter states that her father has also been complaining of unusual fatigue and an overall feeling of "stifthess" when walking for the pust 3 months, she ad attributed these symptoms to his age and his relocating to the US. The patient and is daughter were just told by the consulting neurologist that he has Parkinson disease PD). In Iceland there are many peopic with PD, but no one in their family has had it; oth the daughter and patient are very upset over the diagnosis. The daughter fecls mrible about not bringing her father to see a doctor earlier, and both she and the tient are afraid of how disabled Mr Sveinsdotir may become noted in his right h nd and rigidity ofmoatint in his right leg HS revised Sp 2015

The main complaints of this patient is third degree burns,parkinsons disease(patient having resting tremors).Besides that patient have stiffness ,unusual fatigue,age related problems .

The area affected is epidermis,entire dermis,and sometimes the underlying tissues,muscles and bones are destroyed.

PRIMARY NURSING DIAGNOSIS :

GOAL/OUTCOMES: The patient should attain normal respiratory status ,gas exchange ,ventilation.

INTERVENTION

GOAL:patient should maintain normal fluid electrolyte balance

GOAL: Patient will maintain normal body temperature

GOAL: Patient should maintain proper nutritional status

GOAL: patient need to maintain proper verbal communication

GOAL: patient should achieve proper mobility

goal: patient should refrain from fatigue

goal: patient needs to refrain from anxiety

goal: patioent need to protect from secondary illensses

goal: patient should refrainfrom injury

goal: patient needs to cope up with situation
