Question
Using excel. I only need help with problem 2. I don't know the SUMIF formulas.
The numbers highlighted in yellow on the income statement to the left show total operating expenses for 2015, 2014 and 2013. In the three blue cells below use the SUM formula to show that the sum of rows 17 to 24 equals the amount on row 25. Use a SUMIF to get the sum of numbers in column D if column E contains '[1]'. Repeat for columns F and G, and H and I. These are the amounts that the Habit subtracts from revenue to calculate its profit percentage. The green cells below will automatically populate when you complete question 2. Think about if these numbers look reasonable given what you answered for questions 9 and 10 on the first tab. Use the ROUND formula to round the percentages in the green cells above (populated from question 2) to two decimal places. Make sure to format as percentages. It can be difficult to work with text in Excel if you don't format it properly. When you type, you are typing inExplanation / Answer
SUMIF formula is used when you want to calculate the sum of values based on certain criteria. In this case if you want to calculate the sum of numbers in column D, F, H and the criteria based is that the number in column E,G, and I should be [1], so the fromula you will use to calculate the sum using sumif for column D then the formula would be
=SUMIF(E10:E44,(1),D10:D44)
Same goes with calculation in culumn F
=SUMIF(G10:G44,(1),F10:F44)
and for column H
=SUMIF(I10:I44,(1),H10:H44)
