Though there is no question in the first situation...still trying to answer :)

1) Els assumption that collection is someone else's reponsibility is not right. All the employees in an organisation have the responsibility towards the common goal and individual goals have to align to the common organisation's goal. In this case Els has separated her goal knowing that organisation as a whole might suffer and hence the practice is unethical.

2) Corey Gilbert can not avail the discount as the payment is not being made within 10 days as stipulated. Nebraska farm has to adjust the amount remitted against the receivables and show 800 as outstanding. It will also show in their reconciliation. Nebraska farm has to communicate this to Lawn Ranger and receive the balance.

This practice is common in small or mid sized companies where manual intervention is more.
