Secondary Palate – It is the structure which divides the nasal cavity from the oral cavity in the mammals. It is responsible of allowing the mammals to chew and breathe appropriately without causing any sorts of hindrance. It plays an important role in allowing breathing while eating which plays an important role in maintaining high rate of metabolism.
Muscular Diaphragm plays a very important role and it provides great ventilation from the time of the birth itself. The ventilation part depends on it and hence it impacts the metabolic changes throughout.
Mammals have a four chambered heart and thus it helps in keeping a high metabolic rate. Since mammalian heart is four chambered, it is able to supply abundant of oxygen which is needed for cellular respiration and maintains a high rate of metabolism. During the process of cellular respiration, energy is provided by fuel molecules like glucose and it is done in presence of abundant of oxygen.
