Question

WHAT FACTORS OTHER than population substructuring might make a database unreliable and how would you minimize their effect? HOW WOULD YOU determine if two alleles or two sets of genes such as those that code for blonde hair and blue eyes are correlated or linked in a population? WHAT EFFECT WOULD looking at more than just three loci have on the frequencies and probabilities you calculated for your case? WHAT STEPS COULD forensic scientists take to minimize the chances of false positives or contamination in their work? HOW HERITABLE ARE DNA profiles relative to fingerprints? WHY SHOUL with an evidence sample before they know a suspect's DNA profile? D DNA analysts draw conclusions about what alleles are associated

Explanation / Answer

4) the false positives in forensic scientists work can occur due to the error in collection or handling samples ,

Mis interpretation of test results or incorrect reporting of test results ....

So one must consider the random match probability and false positives probability in order to make a fair evaluation of DNA evidence. And minimise the chances of the false positives..

5) DNA profiling is most common used as forensic technique in criminal than the finger prints..

99.99% of human DNA sequences are same in every person.enough to distinguish between the humans unless they are monozygotic twins... but in comparison to the finger prints the reliability and validity of the results was questionable..

DNA profiling is heritable but the finger prints are not completely even at the relatively level of understanding..
