Bioremediation is a process of treating contaminated media by changing conditions and letting growth of micro organisms and degrade the pollutant.
2)purpose of bioremediation:
-it is a waste management technique.
-to degrade hydrocarbon value present in soil and make it fertile.
-to decrease the solid waste that has been increased widely by urbanisation,examples like plastic,hospital waste..
-there are many types of bioremediation processes like biosparging,bioventing,bioaugmentation, etc.. which allow microbes to grow and degrade them by different approaches.

-IT is carried out in-situ(in labs) with no danger of spreading,transport etc..
