Question
A researcher is conducting an experiment to identify an unknown hormone. The experiment consists of exposing cells to the hormone and determining where the hormone is after a period of time. The researcher collects the data in the table below. What could be the identity of the unknown hormone?Trial: 1 Applied Hormone: 1 Intracellular hormone concentration (ng/mL): 0.6
Trial: 2 Applied Hormone: 10 Intracellular hormone concentration (ng/mL): 7.3
Trial: 3 Applied Hormone: 100 Intracellular hormone concentration (ng/mL): 87

Explanation / Answer
Testosterone is a hormone which is produced in male and female. In male it is tested by seminar vesicle and prostate response in the rodents because it repairs the damage of seminar vesicles and prostate. The testosterone is produced alternatively with progesterone. The effect of testosterone influence the production of progesterone. In an experiment conducted in pregnant rodents. The peak values of testosterone ranges from 0.64ng/ml to 7.99ng/ml. These values are almost close to the experiment performed in trail 1 and trail 2. So we can conclude that the unknown hormone is testosterone.
