How does the strategic planning need to change?
Explanation / Answer
Answer:
The strateigic planning for the prevention of HIV/AIDS was devised 10-15 years ago based on the availability of knowledge of the disease, tools for diagnosis and technologies for their prevention, The last decade has seen a phenomenal increase in the molecular basis of disease diagnosis and treatment. This has resulted largely due to the establishment of new biotechnology companies worldwidew. These have entirely changed the disease treatment scenario worldwide. Here diseases are specifically targeted by "target therapy" which eliminates the undesirable effects on the other healthy cells and tissues of the body. Apart from this, personalized medicine is also in offing. The basis of it lies in the fact that each individual responds to therapy in a different and specific way. The therapy is designed in such a manner.
