For each of the test result, esplain the purpose and the result of the test. The red bes indicates the test result. Escherichia o, Siphlococcus aureus, Paradomonas aeraginos Klebsiella pnesmonia Serratia Gram Stais and Shape Catalase Test Indale (ponditive or acgative Spring 201s Unknow DNase Test Name: n Determination Email Save Organism:Explanation / Answer
In the step one that is gram staining we found out that the shape of the bacteria is rod shaped, and it is oink in color that means it is gram negative bacteria.
In step 2 the experiment is Catalase test in which if there is presence of bubble in theH2O2 inoculated with culture then this organism is catalase positive. All aerobic organism gives this test that means that the organism is aerobic.
In step 3 the experiment performed is Indole test: THe organism is indole negative as it does not produce red color at top. While the strains which convert the tryptophan to indole gives positive red color test. So this organism is not capable of this conversion
Experiment 4: H2S production: When organism catalyze the sulphur containing metabolites then the H2S is produced, it is characterstic of Enterobacters. But our organism is negative to this test.
Experiment 5: Dnase test: The organisms that can utilize DNA as nutrition source give this test as positive and produce a faded color around itself on the petriplate of DNA methyl green complex.
From the above five experiment it is seen that the organism is:
Gram negative bacillli with catalase positive, indole negative, incapable of H2S production and Dnase positive
These all characterstics altogether are present only in Serratia marcescens
