Question
On this graph, degrees indicate latitudes. The months of the year are along the bottom. The vertical axis indicates the average monthly insolation in Watts per m^2. The equator has a much higher sun angle than the North Pole. What is the likely explanation for why the average monthly amount of insolation at 90 degree latitude peaks far higher than any month at 0 degree latitude. Write your answer to question #36 in this text box. What is the electronic charge of an ion 12 protons and 11 electrons?Explanation / Answer
1. At 90o latitude solar insolation in hours will be greater due to the fact at higher latitudes there are hours of sun rays hitting the earth, infact there is 6 months of continous daylight at this latitude so increasing the average monthly daylight hours.
However there is a drastic fall in solar insolation at this latitude, because of the angle hitting on earth
