What is one element of cities you would change if you could? Why would you want to?Explanation / Answer
1) Sustainable Environment means grooming under the nature and development of our surroundings with simultaneously maintaining an ecological balance.
sustainable cities are those cities which is inhabited by the people ,who have made up their mind with the habit of preserving the environment and reducing or minimizing the usage of various entities such as enegy, food, water ,waste, pollution etc. these cities are designed in such a way that the balance of ecology is preseved, without any compromise. this cities are lived by huge population within a small area, and then also without hampering the abilities of future generations.
example of a sustainable city could be, building an eco friendly city which utilises green energy more than conventional fuels. use of solar and battery operated vehicles ,less use of diesel cars and autos.
planting of trees along roadside ,use of foot or bicycles for short distances ,
motivating people to use public vehicle more than private owned.and also planting in our buildings and flyovers. this way our environment is conserved and safe for future generation and building a better world to live in.
2) temporary use of space in urban areas is a good step for general urban regulations and development culturally and politically.Rasman Frisk emphasised the importance of temporarily utilising the urban spaces.
this architect focuses on temporarily using the urban space for a better present and future.
usually construction in the urban areas prercedes by a long planning phase, which is sometimes considered to be unworthy. we are evident of the fact how many constructions have been done in the urban spaces and not utilising to the fullest and even though a new construction being done without caring about the negative impact of it.
urban areas have some huge population, to maintain this as a suitable place and to counter such populations, there must be advancements towards temporary use of urban space.
5) cities to be sustainable ones education is far most important.
people in the cities are not very vastly exposed to resources, they have a limited supply energy, water, space etc. for a large population a limited area is being provided. so accustomed to such conditions and devlopment in a sustainable environment without hampering the future abilities, science and technology plays an imporatant role in the form of education.
in a sustained city we know we have to deal with large population everyday, cities shangai, Mumbai, dhaka , manila, etc. so without any chaos we have maintain our cities a liviable place today and tomorrow.
here educating people is the key, telling people how to improve daily habits, punctuality and usage of food, energy ,water to a descent level so that its comfortable for everybody to live in the densly populated cities.
consider about tokyo which is one of the most densly populated cities, people are well mannered and there is never a chaos among people and they live happily. how its done only because of education.
6) transportation system is one of the many elements i would change if i could have.
every city to be dwelled as a liveable place we have to improve its roads and transportation system.
cities of the world have en ever increasing population rate and also their commodities , so transportation system need to be optimized, ignoring these often leads to accidents.
roads and rail accidents in asian and african countries are high as compared to european countries, beacuse they have very good patterned transportation system.
what i would change is the widening of roads, robust street lights installation, speed limit restriction boards, regular maintaining of roads etc. so that every instructions are followed and a good transportation system is framed.
