Help with question 2 please
Every two months, Maria calculates the average rate of change of muffin sales over the just-completed two month period. Determine the two-month period of time where blueberry muffin sales had the largest average rate of decrease. Are there specific points in time when the instantaneous rate of change in blueberry muffin sales matches the average rate of change in sales over the course of 2012? If so, then give the approximate date(s). If not. then explain why. What are the units of R'(x) ?Explanation / Answer
2.
a) The derivative R(x), represents the rate of change of elevation with distance from the source, so if the river is flowing downhill everywhere, the elevation is always decreasing and hence R(x) is always negative.
b) R(x), represents the rate of change of elevation with distance from the source hence R'(x) = d/dx (R(x)). Therefore the unit of R'(x) is feet/mile
