Question
Jennifer Hammond since the beginning of time, man has used natural renewable resources for energy to survive. We have used wood for cooking and heat. Wind for milling and grains. Solar for lighting fire and growing of plants. Nonrenewable resources like coal natural gas, nuclear, and oil have been around for a long time but are limited due to how long they take to replenish. As a new generation comes into play, renewable resources as energy supply are becoming more popular because of the quicker replenish period and they are less harmful to the environment. Nonrewable resources have been one of the leading causes of air and water pollution and a leading cause of acid precipitation. Trees were used for building and for fires to heat. Water is used for a 1/3 of the power supply and irrigation of the crops. Coal mining has been expanding in the state for power. They have been mining gold and silver hence the name the treasure state. The newest phase is tourism enjoying the National parks and all the outdoor adventures this great state has to offer. This includes our beautiful mountains and waterways.Explanation / Answer
Montana derived its name from its mountainous topography which was blessed with many valuable mineral resources. These natural non-renewable natural resources of gold, silver, copper, copper were mined and this promoted the production of electricity. The major renewables resources included wind, water, geothermal and solar.
Considering the energy part, the earlier electric plants in Montana were primarily based on non-renewable resources that primarily focussed on the mining. However, later hydroelectric projects were developed 1890 on rivers that provided sufficient power supply to the state.Coal which the state is blessed with is the dominant non-renewables resource used in thermal electric plants for the energy requirements. This, however, put the state at risk higher emissions. The state is promoting the utilization of renewables resources like solar and wind energy to mitigate the energy requirements. The hydroelectric projects still hold a substantial share in energy production which is ideal.Another area of development is geothermal energy which is now given due attention.
