Reflect on what you’ve learned in this course of science fiction. How has your thinking about science changed?This course investigates the science behind popular science fiction literature and film. Students will sharpen their critical thinking skills to investigate science fiction plot devices to determine if they are compatible with fundamental principles in physics, chemistry, and biology. Is it possible to travel faster- than-light? Will suspended animation prolong our time in this universe? Science topics discussed include: motion, acceleration, time dilation, energy, characteristics of living things, cloning, evolution, Earth’s cycles, and climate. Students will also discuss the ethics of these new technologies in consideration of the university’s guiding core values

Explanation / Answer

I would like to argue that using science fiction to effect change has taken on a new, more strategic form. Science fiction is distinct from normal scenario planning in that it is primarily concerned with technology, science, and the future. It also uses world building to imagine complex structures or even biological organisms. Some science fiction writers draw upon literary traditions to build strong characters and tight plots. Everything i  learn makes me feel more connected to the universe.Rules of universe  help me understand not only things are how they are but how they might be if things changed.Climate models are important and complex tools for understanding the climate system.Science is deeply interwoven with society, and as it has changed, so too has science.Suspended animation can prolong our time in this universe. They are close to do this for 2 weeks but they are looking forward to extend it for a couple of years. science has impacted people around the world is in the medical field. We are now living longer than ever.Chemistry has arguably had some of the greatest impacts on society for quite some time. we also modifies food crops so that we can get better yield from them.Science and technology is drastically changing our means of communication, the way we work, housing, clothes, and food, methods of transportation, and even the length and quality of life itself, it has generated changes in the moral values and basic philosophies of mankind.

we are often mesmerized by technology’s phenomenal growth.It helps us to become ever more familiar with the world.Traditional technologies of the guild and artisans were characterized by an interpersonal dimension.We found ourself in a completely new situation compared to even a century ago.A good degree of uncertainty exists concerning the fast pace of changes in technology and the economy.Mechanization, automation, and robots have relieved people of much hard manual and routine labor.now possibility became the grounds for applied implementation. It has become an essential precondition for our whole life.
