15) A graphical display of the decision criterion follows. Reject Ho Do not reject Ho Reject Ho 0.02 1 0.02 4 3 2 10 1 2 3 4 -2.05 205 Identify the hypothesis test as two-tailed, eft-tailed, or right-tailed. A) Left-tailed B) Two-tailed C) Right-tailed D) There is not enough information to answer the question. A sample mean, sample size, and population standard deviation are given. Use the one-r required hypothesis test at the given significance level. Use the critical -value approa 16)--20. n-60, ? . 1.5. HOP-22 Hatu»22. ?-005 A) z - -10.33 critical values - 1645 do not reject Ho

Explanation / Answer

Solution(1)
As we can see that pvalue should be <-0.02 and p-value shouldbe p-value>0.02 so we will reject H0 otherwise not. Also if Xbar<-2.05 and Xbar>2.05 than we will reject H0 otherwise do not reject H0 so this is a two tailed test rather than left and right tail test.
Solution(2)
Given in the question
Xbar = 20, n=60, Population standard deviation = 1.5
Z = (20-22)/1.5/sqrt(60) = -2/1.5/7.7459 = -10.33
at alpha = 0.05 this is a two tailed test so alpha/2 = 0.025
Critical values is +/-1.645
Here we can see that test statistic value is less than -1.645 so we will reject H0. and accept the alternate hypothesis.
