profit = revenue -cost

profit =20x-(8x+24000)

profit =12x -24000

when profit is 18000

=>12x -24000 =18000

=>12x =18000+24000

=>12x =42000

=>x=(42000/12)

=>x= 3500

3500 units should be sold to realise a monthly profit of $ 18000
