Question

A class of 100 students is evenly divided into 4 classrooms(A, B, C & D). What are the probabilities that: a: 3 friends (Tom, Bob & Adam) will be in the sameclassroom? b: 3 friends will all be in a specific classroom (classroomA)? c: 3 friends will all be in different classrooms? My instinct tells me that there are 8 possible outcomesfor each classroom: Tom; Bob; Adam; Tom & Bob; Tom& Adam; Adam & Bob; Tom, Bob & Adam; or None. Allof these outcomes would be equally likely (I think?) so it seemslike the answer to part (a) would be 1/8. Can that beright? And that doesn't help me with the other twoparts. Please help. I'm really stuck. Thanks! A class of 100 students is evenly divided into 4 classrooms(A, B, C & D).
