In a greenhouse there were 100 plants composed of the following types: 10 type A, 20 type B, 30 type C, and 40 type D. One hundred individuals of a particular type of insect were released into the greenhouse and after 1 hour the type of plant each insect was located on recorded. Here H0 : There is no significant preference for insects to sit on any perticular plant.
Ha : There is significant preference for insects to sit on any perticular plant.
SO we will use chi-square test for indpendence.
so CHi - square X2 = 5.9347
for p - value = CHITEST (Observed, expected) = 0.1148
i used EXcel CHITEST here. We can say that insects doesn't have any special preference over plants.
