Explanation / Answer
We as individuals should practice sustainable habits and contribute in keeping our environment safe. With the concept of reduce, reuse and remodel we can improvise our houses in ways that are eco-friendly such as using solar panels to harness the energy of the sun which can be used for lighting up the house and generating heat for showers, which in the long run are budget friendly and save energy. The Green Building design ensures that resources are utilised in a responsible away with which the environment is benefitted. Currently my house has solar panels and a green roof. The green roof prevents water run-offs and provides insulation, saving energy to a great extent. My house can be made more greener which I plan on doing in the near future by installing low-emissive windows that would alter the way windows transfer heat as well as reduce energy costs. I also plan on building large water retaining tanks to harness rainwater which can then be stored for watering garden plants. Ground water pumps also cut the cost of water bills in places where underground springs can be tapped. These methods can help us reduce the energy and water consumption on a day to day basis and contribute towards a cleaner and greener future.
