Question
ear energy is extremely concentrated, the current system of nuclear power technology) is not for ordutio(fission power plants and fuel processing requirements using current large-scale electric production. What reasons are given? not considered by your textbook to be a feasible alternative to fossil fuel 22. If it turns out that there is no affordable method of entirely replacing fossil fuels with renewable, non-carbon sources of energy, then what would be let as a general solution to reducing depletion of fossil fuels and reducing emission of carbon dioxide? 23. Current availability of natural gas and oil is much greater than would have seemed possible just a few years ago, even though the current rate of use is still increasing (i.e greater availability is not simply a result of conservation). How is an increase in availability possible without conservation if gas and oil are non-renewable resources? Hint: The explanation is related to the high price of gas and oil several years ago.Explanation / Answer
ANSWER-
21.) Nuclear energy is not feasible for many reasons including the safety handling, exposure to radioactive elements, investment, cost, risks and hazards associated with it.Economically nuclear power is much costlier than the solar power. Also Nuclear energy poses another extreme level of threats due to radioactive waste of uranium and plutonium into the environment.
22.) the following things should be done by the people -
use of renewable energy-such as solar, hydro, wind energy.
conserve energy- people should go for simplicity in life, such as prefering private vehicles, saving the use of electricity, etc.
reuse of waste products.
recycling of materials.
live green-by surrounding yourself with trees and making it a part of daily life.
23) The reason to this assertion is that oil and naturl gas demand was lower earlier.but there is only so much oil, coal and natural gas our Earth can hold. After that there has been an increasing demand for fossil fuels in the past thirty years.ALso world population has increased which has led to increase in demand. In short, the increase trend in world energy use is attributed to- a) increasing population .b) developing countries.Developing countries on the urge of becoming developed ones are consuming more energy than the developed countries.
