Question

Question 1 Calculate the mean changes in temperature, precipitation, GPP, TER, and NEE between 2002 and 2003 by summing values for all locations and dividing by 14 (the number of locations). Use the July through September values for your calculations. What can you conclude about changes in temperature, rainfall, and changes in CO2 in the ecosystem from these numbers? [Note: The following questions require the use of some basic statistical techniques. For a review of various statistical techniques, see the Web Stats Review.] Question 2 Given the relationship between drought and NEE described above, will increased drought frequency or intensity (as predicted by climate change models) lead to a positive or negative feedback effect on climate?

Explanation / Answer

dT mean change = 1.9642

dP mean change = -48.78

GPP mean changes= -43.071

TER mean changes= -25.071

NEE mean changes= -18

The value of GPP , TER and 2all are negative, The TER is more postive than GPP. So carbon releases to the atmosphere.

2. The precipitation is high negative , which leads to the drought conditions. Which causing poor vegetation in the areas.
