Explanation / Answer

The null hypothesis, there is no significant difference in the variance time they first tried alcohol between black and white. An alternative hypothesis, there is a significant difference in the variance time the first tried alcohol between black and white. With (F=.009, p>5%),I fail to reject the null hypothesis at 5% level of significance and conclude that there is no significant difference in the variance time the first tried alcohol between black and white. Hence I should use T test for independent samples with equal variances assumed.

Null hypothesis, there is no significant difference in the average time they first tried alcohol between black and white. v/s Alternative hypothesis, there is a significant difference in the average time the first tried alcohol between black and white. With (t(271) =-2.918, p<5%),I reject the null hypothesis at 5% level of significance and conclude that there is a significant difference in the average time the first tried alcohol between black and white.
