Question
Thank you for your post Donyelle. You raise some interesting points about the experimental design related to the working with or with pout bonuses. Do you think it would matter then the received the bonus? I mean you could be told that if you complete this project by this deadline you will get a bonus or it could be that you receive a bonus because you completed the project by a certain time. In one case you know of the bonus and in the other you did not. DO you think this variability in bonus structure could affect the productivity of the works?Explanation / Answer
Yes , the variability in bonus structure could affect the productivity of the works.
When there is certain specific time given for the complation of the work then the official or individual or management committee will work in such a way that they complete by the time .In order achieve their target goals they don't take care about the productivity of the project, they just work in such a way that it would get less and less time to complete and then they receive their bonus. In doing so if they use large no of workers, highly qualified professionals, well equipped equipment then there is some chance of getting better productivity but there is very less and less chance of applying these methods in project.. here the main aim of the management to achieve the bonus as they knew that if they complete on time then they receive a good profit...
On the other hand if the management committee have not any prior knowledge about the bonus then they will work only in order to achieve a better product so that in future they will get more and more projects..In doing so there productivity as well as quality will improve and after completion of the project if they get bonus then the next too they will work hard in order to increase the surplus product so that company too get more profits..
On the basis of the above two mentioned paragraph we can say that the variability in bonus structure could affect the productivity of the works..there are some cause which are to not in our control and due to which also productivity will differ and these cause are called commitment , ancillary and independent causes ..In order to know the whole phenomena we have to knew about ANOVA and ANOCOVA techniques . These techniques helps us to knew about the chance factors, treatment and other important factor which are responsible for the change in productivity.
