Explanation / Answer

1. Put the value in given equation and calculate Q*, plot it in the graph paper. X-axis will be time axis and Y-axis will be flux.

2. Longwave and shortwave basically are electromagnetic radiation of different in wavelength. If the wavelength is smaller in size ( UV, visible) we call it shortwave while if the length of wavelength is large (like radio wave) we call it longer wavelength. Usually, the sun emits shorter wavelengths because of the extremely hot environment, but earth radiates it back in the form of longer wavelength of typically lower in temperature compare to incoming one.

X-ray range -0.01-10nm

UV range- 10nm-400nm

visible range- 400-700 nm

infrared range- 700 nm-1mm

microwave range-1mm-1m

radio wave range- 1m-100 km

#Kindly refer to electromagnetic spectrum chart for better understanding.

3. Emission: It is a spectrum of an electromagnetic radiation by a source. (eg. UV emission from the Sun, the emission spectrum of a chemical compound, etc.)

Reflection: the reflection of em wave from the surface. It follows the law of reflection as well. (eg. reflection of incoming radiation by clouds in the atmosphere, reflection of visible light the in mirror, etc.)
