Null hypothesis, Ho: = 98.6 Alternate hypothesis, Ha: < 98.6 sample mean, x = 98.4 sample standard deviation, s = 0.7 sample size, n = 123 = 0.01 standard error, e = s/n = 0.063 calculated z = (x-)/e = (98.4-98.6)/0.063 = -3.18 critical z from the z table for significance level = 0.01 is2.33 since the calculated z is less than the critical z so weaccept the null hypothesis. and hence we conclude that the claim that normal temperaturesof women is less than 98.6 is not true.Related Questions
