Do the early questionsin an exam affect your performance on later questions? researchreported in the Journal of Psychology (1991) investigated thisrelationship by conducting the following experiment: 140 collegestudents were randomly assigned to two group. Group A took an examthat contained 15 difficult questions followed by 5 moderatequestions. Group B took an exam that contained 15 easy questionsfollowed by the same 5 moderate questions. One of the goals of thestudy was to compare the average score on the moderate questionsfor the two groups.
