Question
I have a set of data that I'm trying to create a frequency distribution for. My teacher want's it done in excel but I prefer spss. At this point, I'd be happy if someone could tell me how to do either. I know what it is, I just don't know how to make it on the computer. I have a column with male and female participants and another column with their age. I'm just trying to get the frequency distribution of the females. Can someone maybe give me directions on how to do it in excel or word? Thanks!Explanation / Answer
Here's a website that shows how to use excel to do frequency tables in excel: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/100122. The website is for quantitative data. http://www-personal.umich.edu/~anfangen/HowtomakechartsandtablesinExcel.pdf has it for qualitative data (which is you basically ordering the data and counting it yourself). If you need further help, please let me know. You can also do it by hand just by simply counting the number of females, and divide it by the total amound of males and females
