Question
What is the difference between EUI and EI? EUI: Energy Utilization Index, and it is equal to total enery over the heated/conditioned area.EI: Energy Index, and equals to the energy used from each form of energy over the production output
I can solve problem on each of them but i cant understand the difference btwn them . Please could anyone explain . Our professor told us that we should differentiate between them and understand the difference . What is the difference between EUI and EI? Explanation / Answer
The two terms are different in their respective aspect are as follows-
EUI- it stand for energy utilization index. it can be defined as the total amount of the energy which is utilized in the cooling or the heating of the building or a given facility at the period of the operation. it is expressed in the BTU per cooling of the square foot. it is calculated by dividing the total amount of the energy consumed by the conditioned area in one year by the total gross floor area of the conditional section.
on the other hand the EI can be defined as it is stand for energy index.it is the individual sources which is supplying the energy for the production area or within the section of the conditioning area. it is the actual increament from the gross level to the excited or the elevated level of the energy consumptions in that perticular period of time.
