probability that the first card is an King and the second is a Jack.
b. If two cards are picked at random from the deck, one at a time, with replacement, find the probability
that the cards chosen are both diamonds.
c. If one card is picked at random from the deck, one at a time, with replacement, find the probability of
getting a Queen or a Heart.
Explanation / Answer
(a) P(King then Jack ) = (4/52) * (4/51) = 4/663
(b) With replacement, the probability that we draw two diamonds is
1/4 * 1/4 = 1/16
(c) If we just pick one card
P(Q or H) = P(Q) + P(H) - P(Q and H) = 4/52 + 13/52 - 1/52 = 16/52 = 4/13
