Answer 1: After the exclusion of Pluto from our solar system, the 8 planets that revolves around the Sun can be differentiated as Terrestrial and Jovian Planets.
The terrestrial planets- Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars have a rocky surface and also have a high content of silica and metals like Iron and Nickel in their bodies along with a thin atmosphere that can have gases like Oxygen, Nitrogen, Carbon dioxide, Methane (found on Mars) and even Carbon monoxide (found on Venus).
The Jovian planets- Jupiter, Uranus Neptune and Saturn in turn are actually made up of gaseous surface and have a core that is denser that the terrestrial planets. The atmospheres of Jovian planets are actually quiet thick and mainly consist of helium and hydrogen along with a few heavy elements. These planets are also huge in size as compared to the terrestrial planets and have more content of ice.
Fun fact- the terrestrial planets do not have a high content of ice since they are closer to the sun and hence have more content of water vapour in their atmosphere. The Jovian planets on the other hand where formed from space matter that is far away from the sun and hence ice is commonly found as part of these planets.
