Question

Here is CIRCUIT

What do you need to do in order to measure the total resistance of R9 and R11 connected in parallel? What do you need tu do in order to measure the tutal resistance of R9-R11 connected as shown in the circuit diagram (parallel connection of R9 and R11, followed by serial connection of R10)? What do you need to du in order tu measure the voltage drop at R11 when S1, S10, S11 and S12 are closed? What do you need to do in order to measure the current that flows through R10 when S1, S10, S11 and S12 are closed?

Explanation / Answer

11) Close the switches S11 and S12. Then measure the required resistance by connencting the ohmmeter at TP-16 and TP-13.

12)Close the switches S10, S11 and S12. then measure the required resistance by connecting the ohmmeter at testpoints TP-16 and TP2 (or) TP1 and TP2.

13) TO measure the voltage at R11, connect the voltmeter at TP-15 and TP-13

14)To measure the current first measure the voltage at R10 by connecting the voltmeter at TP-13 and TP-2. Now divide the voltmeter reading with the value of R10 resistance and get the current.
