Hair Cycle has three phase, a) Anagen b) Catagen C) Telogen
Answer(I) a) Anagen:- This phase is also known as Growth phase. This phase determines the length of our hair and is usually lasts 2-7 years.
b) Catagen:- This phase is also known as Transition phase. During this phase no new cells are produced in dermal papilla and hair follicle decreases in size and detaches from the dermal papilla. It lasts about 10 days.
c) Telogen:- This phase is also known as Resting phase. During this phase hair falling starts. It lasts roughly 10-12 weeks. Normal rate of hair shedding is 50-150 hairs daily.
Answer(ii) Anagen Phase:- 1.) This phase is also known as Growth phase. During this phase the root of the hair is dividing rapidly. Hair grows about 1cm every 28 days. It begins from papilla and can lasts from 2-6 years. 85-90% hairs on one's head are in this phase at any time.
2.)The length of time spent in the Anagen phase affect the hair because the longer the hair stays in the Anagen phase, the longer it will grow.
Answer (iii) In the Telogen phase there are some structures are responsible for keeping the stem cell quiescent like hormonal changes, environmental factors, stress, abnormal diet etc.
When there is uncommon form of hair loss then it is called Telogen Effluvium. By proper care and proper dieting we can overcome this problem.
