He gives a group of college students who are depressed the drug and a group of elderly patients with whom he is working get none. Later he assesses their scores on a depression rating scale. If so, how could this affect his 3. ults?Explanation / Answer
The hypothesis; the drug developed by John may be an antidepressant.
Theory; the drug developed by John is an antidepressant.
Independent variable; different doses of the drug invented by John given to students
Dependent variable; the mental state of the subjects.
Experimental group; set of students to are given the drug.
Control group; set of elderly people who didn’t get the drug.
A major flaw that; I observed in the experiments is; the control group of elderly people; ideally, the control should be of the same age group and same sex to get good confirmatory results. This can affect the results of the experiments as the physiology of the body varies with age and sex.
