(a) Write a formula which gives the total time t, in minutes, needed to preheat the oven and then bake a turkey weighing p pounds. (b) You wanted to buy a 15 pound turkey, but the store only had a turkey weighing 18 pounds. How much longer, in minutes, will it take to bake the bigger turkey instead of the smaller turkey?

Cooking time = 12min per pound

a) so, Total cooking time, T = 15 + 12p

b) To cook 15 pound turkey , T = 15 + 12*15

To cook 18 pound turkey , T = 15 + 12*18

Additional time to cook 18 pound turkey = 12*(18 - 15) = 36 minutes
