3. What additional criterion must be met for a variable to be considered ordinal that is not a requirement for nominal level measurement ? provide an orginal exaple in your discussion.

4. Operationalize the variable eduactional level so that its measurement would produce nominal level measurement , ordial level measurement, interval level measureent ,and ratio level measurement.

5. Construct a research hypothesis that has one nominal level independent variable and one ordinal level dependent variable .Explain how you would measure the dependent variable to produce the desired level of measurement.

6.Construct a hypothesis that has one nominal level independent variable and one ratio level dependent variable .Explain how you would measure the dependent variable to produce the desired level of measurement.

7. What level of measurement is the variable highest social work degree received ? Justify your response .What other ways of operationalizing the variable would produce different levels of measurement ? Explain

Explanation / Answer

6. The reasearch hypothesis is as follows:

There are several arguments whether admitting to a preschool below 3 years has something to do with parents' occupation. One reseracher claims that children whose parents are into service are more keen to put babies into preschool at 3 years. The nominal level independnet variable is occupation and ratio level dependnet variable is age. For this purpose, reseracher collects random samples of preschool children at their age of admission and note their parents' occupation. Descriptive statistics corresponding to each occupation would generate meaningful results.

5.

There are many debates over preffference of Pepsi over Coke. One researcher claims that Coke is popular among youngsters over Pepsi. The hypothesis has one ordinal level variable-prefference and one nominal level variable-beverage. Two-sample t test would result a meaningful output.
