Answer 1: Railroads. In the mid 19thcentury, transportation saw a boom due to supply demands and with growing industries that manufactured steel, these railroads were reinforced with steel rails to carry heavier goods and provide a faster way of conveyance. Hence, in a way, the growth of the North American Manufacture core and the growth of railroads were inter-dependant.
