1-A. Mook Corp. has utilized three different types of training for its employees. The company would like to determine whether or not there are differences in the effectiveness (in terms of worker productivity) across the training programs. What is the alternate hypothesis for the ANOVA test in the accompanying figure?
1-B. Mook Corp. has utilized three different types of training for its employees. The company would like to determine whether or not there are differences in the effectiveness (in terms of worker productivity) across the training programs. What does the ANOVA output in the accompanying figure indicate?
1-C. Mook Corp. has utilized three different types of training for its employees. The company would like to determine whether or not there are differences in the effectiveness (in terms of worker productivity) across the training programs. Using information from the table, determine the value of the SSB. What does it measure?
1-D. Mook Corp. has utilized three different types of training for its employees. The company would like to determine whether or not there are differences in the effectiveness (in terms of worker productivity) across the training programs. The table includes one-way ANOVA results. What is the logical next step once Mook Corp. has identified that workers attending different training programs have different productivity levels?

Explanation / Answer
Answer to the question)
Answer to part 1-A)
Since we compare three different types of training here the alternate hypothesis will be:
Alternate hypothesis: The mean effectiveness of atleast one training program is different from the rest of the training programs
.
Answer to part 1-B)
According to the ANOVA output we get F = 263.86 with a P value = 0.00
Since the P value 0.00 is less than alpha = 0.05 , we reject the null hypothesis and conclude that atleast one training program has different mean value of effectiveness as compared to the rest of the training programs
.
Answer to part 1-C)
The formula for SS b is as follows:
SSb = df b * MS b
We got df b = 1
MS b = 44082.89
.
On plugging these values we get:
SSb = 1 *44082.89
SS b = 44082.89
It tells us about the variance caused by the different groups, in this scenario it lets us know the variance generated due to the three training programs.
.
Answer to part 1-D)
The logical step that should follows after knowing that not all the three training programs have same effectiveness is to analyze the pair of training programs with significant different effectiveness levels. For that we can use the Tukey HSD test.
