13. The stem-and-leaf display Aa Aa Which of the following are true for stem-and-leaf displays? Check all that apply. You can completely regenerate the raw data from a stem-and-leaf display. | | Stem-and-leaf displays are most useful for summarizing and describing data when the data set is relatively small A stem-and-leaf display gives you all the benefits of a histogram | Stem-and-leaf displays are not as useful as histograms because they show only the scores and not the frequencies The following data on a quantitative variable named Variable A were collected from a sample of size n - 22 Sample Data Data Set Sample Variables 1 Observations 22 Data Values Variables for 50 observations Observations > Observations Variable Type Form Values Missing Variable A Quantitative Numeric Variable Correlation CorrelationExplanation / Answer
Solution-
Options A,B and D are true here for the stem-leaf diagram. As we can do regenerate the raw data by looking at the stem-leaf diagram. It can be cumbersome to draw it when sample size is numerous. hence second option is true. Histogram shows you frequencies by looking at the vertical axis but in stem-leaf displays , you have to manually count the numbers to know the frequencies.
You have only provided 15 values out of 22 from the dropdown in the image above. But still skewness ca be known by looking at the boxplot provided by you. As median is exactly in the middle of the box, so data should be symmetric.
Thanks!
