A) The distribution in hypothesis testing represents the probability density function of the sample statistic under the assumption that Null hypothesis is True i.e. the distribution describes the relative likelihood of different values that the sample statistic may assume under the assumption of null hypothesis being true.
B) t-distribution has greater variability than z-distribution because in the definition of a random variable which follows t-distribution, we use sample standard deviation, whereas for z-distribution, we use population standard deviation. Clearly, Sample standard deviation has much higher variability associated with it than population standard deviation(infact, variability=0 for population standard deviation because it is a fixed constant); therefore t-distribution shows much larger variability than z-distribution.
C) Effect size of d=0.44 indicates that the mean level of confidence in a sample of adolescents was 0.44 higher after going through a team-building exercise than before.
