Mean of the above data is also known as the average. It is calculated as follows : Total of final exam scores/ Number of exam scores
(99+89+86+77+86+50+85+89+77+48+86+99)/12= 80.92
Median- Middlemost value of the exam scores. For the given date we will first arrange the scores in ascending order. We have total 12 observations. So the middlemost value will be between 6 and 7 ie 6.5. we have: 48,50,77,77,85,86,86,86,89,89,99,99. The 6th value is 86 and the 7th value is also 86. So the required median is 86.
Mode: In the distribution above mode is the value which has the highest frequency(ie it occurs the most number of times). From the data above we find 86 has been observed 3 times(highest frequency here) so it is the required mode.
