Approximately half the students have heights between 65 and 71 inches. B. The histogram is symmetric. C. The tallest person must have a height of at least 79 inches. D. None of the above are correct. (b) The interval that contains closest to 10 students is A. 59-65 inches. B. 74-80 inches. C. 56-68 inches. D. 68-71 inches. E. None of the above. 25Explanation / Answer
(a)
Approx. number of total students: ~ 65
Approx. number of students having heights between 65 and 71 inches: ~ 25. 25. So A. option is discarded.
The histogram doesn't look symmetrical. Option B. discarded
The last bar in histogram has a non zero frequency , but it represents height between 77 and 80. So the tallest person need not necessarily be atleast 79 inches in height. Hence Option C. is discarded.
Ans. D) None of the above are correct.
(b)
As can be clearly seen the interval that has a frequency closest to 10 is the interval 68-71
Ans. D. 68-71 inches
